Lest We Forget: How Will You Remember?
Edition #7 - November 2024
Remembrance Day isn’t just about honoring the past—it’s about carrying forward its lessons for the future.
For many of us, Remembrance Day brings memories of stories shared by our parents and grandparents about wartime sacrifices. This year, why not make it a family event? Inviting your children or grandchildren to a local service is a meaningful way to pass on these memories.
Remembrance Day reminds us of values forged through hardship: resilience, unity, and a commitment to peace. Simple conversations with younger family members about these values help connect them with history and remind them that the sacrifices of the past were made for a better future. By coming together, we honor the legacy of those who served and ensure their values live on.
Here’s where you can pay tribute at a Remembrance Day memorial event on the Northern Beaches:
Sunday 10 November:
Balgowlah RSL Club - 10:45am (Commemorative Service & refreshments afterwards).
Monday 11 November:
Manly War Memorial, The Corso
Manly War Memorial, Manly Dam
Avalon Beach RSL Club
Collaroy RSL
Dee Why RSL
Forestville RSL
Harbord Diggers
Narrabeen RSL
Palm Beach RSL
Pittwater RSL
War Veterans Village Narrabeen
